The goal for every child that comes into our care is to have a permanent family that works for them. The preferred option in most cases is for the child to live with his or her biological parents, providing the parents can make any changes needed to create a safe and loving home.
One of our MBCH Foster Families is going above and beyond the foster parent role to make that happen for their foster child. They have taken a mother under their wing and are assisting her with finding a home, furnishing the home, and teaching her parenting skills. They invited her to church and have made sure to include her in every aspect of the children's lives so she doesn't feel so disconnected.
When she gets her children back, they want to continue to be a resource for her should issues arise that she needs help with. They are careful not to overstep their role and not to enable her. They are helping her make the necessary changes for her children and showing her Christ's love.
