With all that is going on in the world today--the pandemic, storms, the election and all the buzz surrounding it--it is good to be reminded that God is still on the throne and is still at work to change the lives of men, women, boys, and girls and to give hope. Let me share a story to illustrate that.
We recently admitted a girl into one of our human trafficking rescue units. She stated she was a Wiccan and some of our staff had concerns if we should bring her into care, but thankfully we did. She would at times try to intimidate the staff with certain statements and actions, but the staff prayed for guidance and continued to show her love and concern. Through the work of the Holy Spirit, she made a profession of faith in Jesus Christ. She told the staff it was like a weight had been lifted off her. She threw her "Book of Shadows" in the trash and stated she was through with the life she used to live--the drugs, the violence, the worry.
Soon after her profession, a guest was on the campus and she asked the girls how they were doing, where they went to church, etc. This girl spoke right up and began telling her about her salvation experience. What a joy to see the enthusiasm of this new sister in Christ.
This is the work of Missouri Baptist Children's Home--to respond to the needs of children, youth, and families to make a lasting difference in their lives. This girl has hope for eternity. Thank you for partnering with us in helping to change lives.
