Stewards of Children Training

Are the adults in your church trained and prepared to keep children and youth safe? Do you know and practice the 5 steps to keeping kids safe?

One in 10 children in the U.S. will be sexually abused before the age of 18, and as many as 90% of sex abuse victims report they were abused by someone they knew and trusted. We believe that adults are responsible for the safety of children and that adults should be taking proactive steps to protect children from sexual abuse.

MBCH offers the training Stewards of Children, to assist your church or ministry with keeping kids safe. Stewards of Children is produced by an organization called Darkness to Light, and it is the only evidence-informed training designed specifically to prevent child sexual abuse.

We would love to provide this training for your church, association, school, or other community organization or ministry. It is perfect for children and youth ministry staff and volunteers, parents and grandparents, or any concerned adult.

Cost

In most cases, with grant funding, we can provide the training at no cost to your church.

Time Commitment

• 2 Hours

Stewards of Children is a two hour workshop that is led by a certified facilitator from MBCH and is video driven.

Format

• Face to face using video and audio equipment at your facility or provided by MBCH
• Virtual: MBCH can facilitate the training virtually and all of your people can participate from where they are.

Content

• Learn the 5 steps to keep children safe.
• Learn to identify the signs of sexual abuse.
• Learn how to respond compassionately and responsibly if abuse is suspected, disclosed, or discovered.
• Learn what next steps your church needs to take to ensure children and youth are safe in your ministry.
