MBCH Children and Family Ministries

A Christian Faith Based Agency

Jesus said, "The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have life and have it abundantly." (John 10:10)

We realize that Satan is the thief that has stolen the peace, safety, and security of the family. He has destroyed the trust that our children and youth should have for adults and their dreams for a positive future. The purpose of the Spiritual Life Program is to equip and encourage our children, youth, and staff with the Word of God to make a lasting difference in their lives.

MBCH Children and Family Ministries is a Christian faith based agency. While we are careful to adhere to the requirements of the State of Missouri to care for our clients, we also exercise the freedom to share the love of Christ. How do we do this?

When children and youth come into care, they are issued a copy of a study bible to keep. For many, it is the first bible they could ever call their own. While in residential care, the staff leads them in group devotions every day. They attend Sunday worship every week at a local church. They attend a group chapel monthly led by the Spiritual Life Director.

These chapels are structured to meet the residents where they are spiritually and emotionally. There is prayer for them and their families. The messages highlight the very present help of Jesus, healing for damaged emotions, an opportunity for commitment, and a challenge to forgive those who have disappointed or hurt them in the past. The music reinforces the message of God's love and the availability of peace in difficult times.

New MBCH Staff who join the agency are also commissioned into service after the completion of their orientation training. They are given opportunities to worship in chapel and are presented weekly meditations geared to Christian workers. Among the many training opportunities, they receive training in personal evangelism to address the difficult questions hurting souls often ask about God. They are in a unique position to build trusting relationships with our kids and demonstrate the love of Christ in action.
