Macedonia Baptist Church, 3110 W Sunshine Street in Springfield, Missouri, will once again be hosting this year’s Ozarks Berry Festival. All proceeds from this event will benefit the Missouri Baptist Children’s Home, as they endeavor to bring hope and restoration to children and families throughout Missouri.
CRAFTS, QUILTS and COBBLERS are just a few of the many reasons why the Festival is a day full of fun, food and fellowship for the entire family. Join us for a day of fun while supporting the children at MBCH. We trust that you will enjoy this year’s festival. Most activities will be held indoors in our air-conditioned facility. Our facility is completely handicapped accessible and has plenty of paved parking.
LIVE AUCTION EXCITEMENT - To improve your “Live Auction” experience, our big screen has been converted into a “tote board,” to help you navigate the action on the auction floor. As each quilt or craft item is up for bid, the screen will display it’s item number. When the item is sold, it will indicate the bidder’s number and the sales amount. The “running total” of the auction proceeds is also displayed, indicating the amount going to the children at the MBCH. As total sales increase, so does the enthusiasm that is generated. We hope that you can join us, because we’re looking forward to even more excitement this year!
Your quilts and handmade crafts may be delivered to Macedonia Baptist Church from Tuesday, September 6th through Saturday, September 10th during the hours of 8:00am-5:00pm. Please deliver your quilts and crafts to the east end of the educational building, not to the church office. Quilts and Crafts must arrive by 5:00pm on Saturday, September 10th to be eligible for Judging.
At the time of delivery, an ‘entry form’ must accompany ALL quilts and crafts. Our receiving department attendants will assist you as needed with the forms. Please add email addresses for the maker and/or contact person on each entry form.
Prior to being submitted to the judges, a unique ‘Item Number’ will be assigned to each Quilt and Craft item, so that the judges will not know the identity of the maker or donor. The “Quilting Department” will be calling the prize winners in each category to let them know that they have won. Pictures of the prize winning quilts with their maker(s) will be taken between 8:00–9:00am on September 24th, just prior to the auction. Please check in at Room 110. You may assist our volunteers in locating your quilt in the quilt maze, but for security reasons, only our volunteers may handle the quilts.
Many varieties of fruits and berries are found in the Ozarks, and many of you have perfected unique recipes for delicious cobblers. Guests of the Ozarks Berry Festival traditionally look forward to a delicious serving of cobbler with a generous scoop of ice cream on top.
We hope that you will consider donating one (or more) of your favorite cobblers, knowing that all proceeds from the Ozarks Berry Festival go directly to the children and ministries of the Missouri Baptist Children’s Home!
Please prepare your cobbler(s) in "disposable" pans with covers, and identify the type of fruit or berries in the cobbler by marking the outside of the container.
Cobblers may be delivered to Macedonia Baptist Church on Friday, September 23rd during the business hours of 8:00am-5:00pm. Please deliver them to the east end of the education building, not to the church office.
You may also bring your cobblers on the morning of the festival. For your convenience, the drop-off location is located near our Guest Registration Area at the North entrances of our Sanctuary. Please do not carry them through the Sanctuary, as food and drink are not permitted in the auction and quilt viewing areas.
We are fortunate to have many faithful Ozarks Berry Festival Partners who enjoy serving. Several volunteers have worked at the festivals for many years. We even have a group that enjoys preparing and serving our meals each year. Whether working individually or as a group, we want to insure that the Ozarks Berry Festival will provide an enjoyable day of fun, food and fellowship for their entire family.
Volunteers are needed to help in a variety of ways to make the festival go smoothly for our guests. You might enjoy helping with guest registration for bidder’s cards, or passing out rubber gloves for those visiting the quilt viewing maze. Serving cobbler and ice cream, as well as cleaning tables are other popular jobs. If you are interested in serving in any way to help make the day go smoothly for all of our guests, please contact Bruce Smith at (417) 414-0859 or by email at OzarksBerryFestival@gmail.com - You may also contact the Macedonia Baptist Church office at (417) 882-6647 and they will be happy to find you a place to serve.
