CaMp18five will be held at Baptist Hill Assembly Camp in Mt. Vernon, MO, beginning on Tuesday, July 30 and ending on Friday, August 2nd at noon. Our campers are from our campus based group homes and our foster families. This year our theme is “In the Wild”. While in the wild, we usually encounter the unusual and possibly, life changing experiences. Our camp this year will provide unique encounters to have fun, be challenged, and come to Jesus.
Brad Bennett from Real Encounter with Brad Bennett returns with his daredevil cycling demonstration (sometimes with audience participation!). Kids will learn to work together to conquer the Challenge Course, enjoy various recreational activities and crafts. Everyone gets excited and touched by the exceptional encounter of the talent show.
The Sports Crusaders will be there to lead and assist those participating in recreational sports. They have a gift of encouraging the timid to participate and join the fun while representing Christ.
Would you like to join us “In the Wild” this year? We need 6 cabin leaders to shepherd 2 or three kids during the day and overnight as the hands and feet of Jesus. We are also looking for several people to join our Hospitality Team. Your role will include handing out refreshments, helping in the kitchen or other helpful duties. Free food and accommodations are provided for the week.
To volunteer, contact us at 1-800-264-6224. Ask for Jan, our acting Camp Volunteer Coordinator on extension 1212. You can email her at firstname.lastname@example.org. Cabin leaders must be at least 21 years old. All approved volunteers will successfully pass a free background check.
If you would like to help defray the cost of camp for our campers (we don’t charge them), you can make a donation to the Camp Scholarship fund on our website http://www.mbch.org/. $100.00 covers the cost for one camper. We anticipate 70 – 80 campers this year.
If you cannot come in person, you can pray for us: positive connections to Jesus Christ, positive connections to one another, good health, good weather, safe travel, encouragement, and of course, to have fun!
Thank you, and God bless you.
Pastor George Fulgham
