Freedom from Addiction

I am concerned that the DOJ is considering providing "safe places" for people to inject drugs into their bodies.  I would much prefer we spend our time, energy, and money on seeking the root causes of addiction and get people off drugs.  This can be done and I want to share a story passed on by staff indicating this is so.

"One of the challenges we face in our human trafficking rescue program is drug addiction.  One of the most common ways the victims of human trafficking are controlled is by getting them hooked on drugs.  Since many of the clients enter our program addicted, it makes it even more challenging to help them find a new way to live.  The drugs are a powerful way to draw them away from the hope we offer.  This month we are happy to announce that four women in our program have been drug free for three months.  This is a huge step for them to walk away from a life of abuse and into a life of hope.  Please pray for them as they take these difficult steps."

It is our purpose to provide hope, healing, and restoration.  This is a much better approach than to enable people to continue in their habits.
