Lasting Change

This has been a challenging year in so many different ways:  the COVID-19 pandemic and its impacts on so much of our lives, the unrests dealing with racial reconciliation and social injustice, and, unfortunately, the expressions of violence and destruction on the part of some.

There was a song some years that talked about looking for love in all the wrong places.  I think, too often, we are looking for answers in all the wrong places.  While money is needed, money is not the solution.  While certain policies and procedures need to change, changing them alone will not solve the problems.

The answer to our problems is a changed heart--a heart that responds to the gospel.  The Good News that we have hope in the Messiah, our Lord and Savior, Jesus the Christ.

Tomorrow is July 14.  Many people are posting on social media that we need to take that day and reflect on 2 Chronicles 7:14:

"If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways,
then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land."

Let's make this a matter of priority--not just on July 14, but everyday.

Blessings and peace.
