The Residential Program
of MBCH Children and Family Ministries is licensed for children ages
6-21 with 8-12 children per house. In addition to the basic
necessities of food, clothing, shelter and medical care, the children
also receive individual, family and group counseling, public
education, a structured environment, psychological care and
recreation. Each child has an individualized treatment plan and is
assigned a social worker who directs counseling and case management
for that child.
The goal of residential
care is the reunification of each child with the natural family (if
possible) or the development of an alternative family structure when
necessary. The average length of stay in residential programs is 9-12
months.
Residential Services are
available in Bridgeton, Mt. Vernon and Peculiar (boys only). As
with all programs of MBCH Children and Family Ministries, Spiritual
Development is emphasized. All staff are dedicated Christians who
actively share their faith without being judgmental. Bible-based
devotions are an important element of daily activities and the
residents are encouraged to become involved in a local church.
