Campaign 2000
Pillsbury Crisis Care Center
Spiritual Life/Learning Center
Plaza/Campus Development
Paving a Pathway for Children
Missouri Baptist Children’s Home
has undertaken a bold new initiative to expand and improve the
physical facilities on the main campus in Bridgeton. Meeting the
challenge yesterday, today and tomorrow, “Campaign 2000” provide
for renovation of existing facilities and construction of new buildings to
house the growing program needs of hurting children, youth and
families. This exciting campaigns will enable us to touch even more
children with the heart of God.
Pillsbury Crisis Care Center
The campus plan includes
construction of a new facility for the very successful Carol Pillsbury
Crisis Care Center. Through the Crisis Care Center, MBCH is prepared
and equipped to respond with as little as a few hours notice to
provide shelter for children ages 6-14 who require immediate
out-of-home placement. This new facility was completed and dedicated
in April of 2002. It is currently in full operation, providing care
for 20 children.
Even though this building is
completed, memorial naming opportunities at all levels are available
in this beautiful facility. Please call 1-800-264-6224 or e-mail
development@mbch.org to find out how you can memorialize or pay
tribute to a loved one with a naming opportunity in the Pillsbury
Crisis Care Building.

Spiritual Life/Learning Center

The second major facility to be
funded through “Campaign 2000” is a spiritual life/multi-purpose
learning center that will provide a focus for the Christian program
that lies at the very heart of Missouri Baptist Children’s Home. It
will also offer meeting and classroom space for residents and their
families. It will provide a beautiful location for training foster and
adoptive parents to care for the needs of children in Christian homes.
Naming opportunities are available to memorialize
or pay tribute to a loved one or special person in your life. This
could be a family member, pastor, church staff member, etc. Please
call 1-800-264-6224 or e-mail
development@mbch.org to find out how you can memorialize or pay
tribute to a loved one with a naming opportunity in the Spiritual
Life/Learning Center.

Plaza/Campus Development

When
Missouri Baptist Children’s Home first moved to “Pattonville” in 1906,
St. Charles Rock Road was simply a roadbed that had been plowed,
filled with crushed rock and sand and then rolled. In the last 95
years, the “Rock Road” has become such a busy multi-lane thoroughfare
that major changes to the campus are necessary. The Missouri
Department of Transportation is currently widening the Rock Road,
which makes the campus development plans of MBCH even more timely.
The old
narrow semi-circular entrance no longer serves the needs of MBCH.
Clients and guests alike find it difficult to locate the entrance and
even more difficult to exit the campus onto the busy highway. Parking
has long been a problem, which will only be increased with the
addition of a new Spiritual Life/Learning Center. Security features
such as fencing and better lighting have become even more important as
the surrounding area has developed.
A key element of Campaign 2000 is
the Plaza and Campus Development project. The Plaza, which will be
located between the Spiritual Life Center and the Blake Administration
Building, will be a focal point for the Bridgeton Campus and offer a
beautiful place for prayer and meditation. A new main entrance and
70-car parking lot will provide guests with easier access to the major
“public” buildings. New wrought-iron fencing, lighting and other
security features will enhance the safety of our children and staff.
Naming opportunities are
available to memorialize or pay tribute to a loved one or special
person in your life. This could be a family member, pastor, church
staff member, etc. Please call 1-800-264-6224 or e-mail
development@mbch.org to find out how you can memorialize or pay
tribute to a loved one with a naming opportunity in the Plaza.

A major part of the new Spiritual Life Center project will be a
beautiful Donor Plaza. This plaza will become the focus of prayer,
meditation, reflection and campus activity.
The Plaza will be constructed of granite pavers paying honor and
tribute to individuals, churches and organizations who love children
and support the ministries of MBCH. Each of these granite pavers will
be engraved with a "love note" that will serve as a reminder that our
children are loved. Every time a hurting child walks across the plaza,
he/she will see that they are loved by thousands of people they will
never even meet.
There are several sizes of granite pavers available which provide
ample opportunity for people of all financial means to be a part of
this eternal memorial.
A 4x8 paver (standard brick size) costs $100 and will accommodate 3
lines of up to 14 characters each. An 8x8 paver costs $250. There are
also 3 different types of 18x18 pavers: standard is $500, pavers
around the fountain are $750 and the "Cornerstone" pavers at each
intersection are $1,000. Each of the 18x18 pavers and the 8x8 pavers
accommodate up to 6 lines of 14 characters per line.
Bricks and pavers can be engraved with 1) the name of the donor, 2)
the name of a loved one you wish to honor or memorialize or 3) a
scripture verse or reference.

Spiritual Life Center. For more information about available memorials
