Billy Ray Massy joined the staff of
Missouri Baptist Children’s Home in December of 1999. Billy lives
in Willard, MO and serves as the Development Officer for Southwest
Missouri. His responsibilities include not only fund raising but
also the recruiting of families and individuals interested in
working with hurting children through employment opportunities,
our foster-adoptive program, our visiting resource program or as a
volunteer.
In fund raising, Billy makes both group presentations
and presentations to individuals sharing the ministry challenges
and opportunities of the Children’s Home and showing both groups
and individuals how they can be personally involved in this vital
ministry to children. Billy is a certified instructor who leads
Estate Planning Seminars and meets with individuals to help them
find answers to their questions and solutions to meet their estate
planning objectives.
Billy attended both the University of Houston and Sam Houston State
Teachers College. Billy retired from the United States Marine Corps as
a Lieutenant Colonel after 21 years of service. He flew 600 combat
missions in Vietnam and was decorated with Three Distinguished Flying
Crosses.
Billy’s ministry experience includes 23 years as pastor of churches
in North Carolina, Alabama and Georgia. Between his military
experience and his ministry experience, Billy worked first as a
salesman and then Sales Manager for the Prudential Company where he
held Life, Health, Property and Casualty and Blue Sky (Mutual funds,
stock funds and annuities) licenses.
Billy and his wife Jean
have 2 grown children, both of whom live in Texas.
