Adoptive Parents Needed
MBCH Children and Family Ministries has a rich history of
facilitating private adoptions through the years, providing services
to both the birth parents and adoptive parents. Birth parents are
provided with services and counseling whether they choose to place
or parent their child. Adoptive parents are provided services to
ensure the best possible placement for the child.
MBCH Children and Family Ministries has seen a steady decline
of private adoptions over the years due to more and more young women
choosing to parent their child. This year three private adoptions
have occurred so far. Our availability of adoptive families needs to
increase and so we are requesting applications for those who might
be interested in becoming an approved family through MBCH Children
and Family Ministries.
The
following eligibility requirements apply in order to be an approved
MBCH Children and Family Ministries private adoptive family:
- Must be 45 years age or younger.
- Must be physically and emotionally
healthy.
- Must have a stable marriage of at
least two years.
- Must be professing Christians and
active members of
an
evangelical Christian church.
Please also keep these things in mind:
- If you have an approved home study
through a licensed agency or licensed professional, MBCH Children
and Family Ministries will review it to determine if it meets our
guidelines. If it does not, we can provide an updated home study for
you.
- MBCH Children and Family Ministries
can complete a home study for you if you do not currently have one.
- You may be an approved family
through MBCH Children and Family Ministries and also be associated
with other adoption agencies as well.
- MBCH Children and Family Ministries
places infants in private adoption with couples only.
- It is MBCH Children and Family
Ministries’ stance that when appropriate, open adoption is in the
best interests of the child. Our agency will train you on what an
open adoption means. You do have the preference of specifying a
closed adoption only.
- It is MBCH Children and Family
Ministries’ policy that adoptive parents will not have the option of
specifying a gender preference for their child.
- MBCH Children and Family Ministries
are especially interested in those families who do not have a race
preference for their child.
- Birth parents who choose to place
their child through MBCH Children and Family Ministries choose the
adoptive family they want for their child. Each approved MBCH
Children and Family Ministries’ adoptive family completes a
non-identifying profile which is given to the birth parents in order
to decide which family they will choose for their child.
If you are interested in applying to be
an approved adoptive family through MBCH Children and Family
Ministries, please call 1-800-264-6224 and ask for the Intake
Department. Please understand that MBCH Children and Family
Ministries cannot guarantee placement of adoptive children.
